TALOF Timeline – 27 Years and Counting
Taking a Leap of Faith Ministries (TALOF) was founded in 1997 in order to answer the call to carry the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the nations of the world.
1982 to 1994 - God's Calling
When Lourdes Tricerri, founder of TALOF, became a born-again Christian in 1982 she knew in her heart that God was calling her to be a missionary to the Nations. After being an active member and lay leader with Valley Worship Center Church in Santa Clarita, CA for 10 years, she decided in 1994 that it was time to take a “Leap of Faith” and relocate to Crowley, TX where she would attend Jerry Savelle Ministries Bible Institute and School of World Evangelism. This two-year training period was an essential part of her ministry formation, equipping her to fulfill her missionary call to the nations.
1997 - The Birth of TALOF
Her next Leap of Faith occurred in 1997 when Lourdes served as a missionary in Nairobi, Kenya under a division of Jerry Savelle Ministries for two years of community outreach, Bible School teaching, and administration. It was during this time that she sensed the Lord impress upon her to launch Taking a Leap of Faith Ministries. Through the help and support of her faithful partners, Lourdes has had the opportunity to minister in short-term and long-term missions in Kenya, Bolivia, Ecuador, Honduras, Equatorial Guinea, and Mexico. Through community evangelism crusades as well as one-on-one ministry, thousands of individuals have heard and accepted the message of salvation and as a result, have experienced great miracles as they were brought into alignment with God’s plan for their lives and families. The generous support of our TALOF partners has enabled Lourdes to build a home for the Guarani Tribe in the mountains of Camiri, Bolivia as well as a children’s home for street kids in Nairobi, Kenya.
2002 - Equatorial Guinea
Later, in 2002, Lourdes was personally invited to come to the small African nation of Equatorial Guinea by the First Lady and worked alongside her as a missionary to their people, providing prayer covering and support to many key leaders in the capital city. This was a fruitful two years of ministry once again seeing the lost accept Jesus as their Savior, Healer, and Deliverer through community outreach and face-to-face ministry.
2004 - God's Plan
In 2004 Lourdes had planned to travel to Thailand but God had a different plan for her. Being impressed to return to Valley Worship Center in the city of Santa Clarita, she was appointed by her home church to serve as senior pastor and did so faithfully for the next six years. During this time Lourdes was instrumental in making disciples and leading Valley Worship Center to reach out to both their local community and beyond – specifically through short-term mission trips to Mexico and Honduras with members of the congregation.
2009 - Thailand and Mexico
As 2009 came to a close Lourdes felt the Lord preparing her for change. Her heart has always been for international missions and in 2010; she was placed back into full-time missionary work to help the people of Thailand and Mexico.
2014 to Present - Uganda, Africa
